With this view I believe, makes it more palatable and less likely to do harm in words or deeds to all forms of life. A few prayers of respect prior to taking a life, thinking of cutting a tree could be appropriate. Indigenous populations commonly killed fish or game but it was done with the deepest respect for the value of that life
