#29: A Reflection for Every Soul... A Path to Read, to Remember, to Stand Upon
Written while the drums of war beat across Gaza, Kashmir, Syria, and beyond
There will come a time
when standing for truth will feel heavier than carrying a mountain.
And yet, the mountain must still be carried.
Indeed, We offered the Trust to the heavens and the earth and the mountains, and they declined to bear it and feared it; but man [undertook to] bear it. Indeed, he was unjust and ignorant. — Saheeh International
This world demands many things from Muslims —
apologies for wounds they did not inflict,
silence for injustices they did not create,
shame for surviving storms they were never meant to endure.
It demands surrender without proof,
accusation without evidence,
and guilt without crime.
But to be Muslim is not to collapse beneath these demands.
It is to carry a trust heavier than the earth and the skies —
to be a witness to justice, not a captive of grievance.
We are not broken by betrayal.
We are not erased by the anger of those who fear what they do not understand.
We are not diminished because rulers traded our dignity for their safety.
The world may hate.
The world may forget.
The world may deny.
But the trust remains.
The path remains.
The burden remains… and so does the hope.
Where others build their pride upon the ruins of others,
the Muslim is commanded to build patience, dignity, and light.
Where others find strength in revenge,
the Muslim is commanded to find it in justice.
Where others rewrite history,
the Muslim is commanded to remember…
to build anew.
If today Muslims are pushed into corners, it is not because Islam has failed.
It is because the world cannot bear the light that refuses to worship its idols.
Yet the Qur'an remains, untouched.
The Sunnah remains, a living map.
And the path remains for anyone…
Muslim or not…
who dares to walk it:
the path of carrying the trust,
speaking when silence would be easier,
standing when surrender would be safer.
For as long as there remains a single heart beating with sincerity,
the light entrusted to Muhammad ﷺ will not be extinguished.
Not by rulers.
Not by mobs.
Not by the storms that gather and howl.
وَٱللَّهُ مُتِمُّ نُورِهِۦ وَلَوْ كَرِهَ ٱلۡكَٰفِرُونَ
(And Allah will perfect His Light, even if the disbelievers hate it.) (Surah As-Saff, 61:8)
So read this not as an argument,
but as a reminder…
that there is a role in every soul:
to stand for truth when it is hardest,
to be light when the world is most dark,
and to remember that dignity is not given by the world… it is given by Allah.
